Sandpoint

As a result of a random series of events, I recently ventured out on an archeological dig in Sandpoint, ID. Sandpoint is a quaint northern Idaho town nestled against the Kaniksu National Forest and Lake Pend Orielle. It's a typical little ski town, which means plenty of fine dining and artsy, hippie, outdoorsy types. Despite some rather unfortunate weather, I actually enjoyed the project. I met a great bunch of people from all different walks of life, and learned some very useful skills...I am now the Queen of finding Chinese coins and a Shuffleboard Champion!

Lake Retreat

The weekend before Halloween, I went with some students at EWU Campus Crusade to a Lake Retreat in Ravensdale, WA.

Joe's Visit

Joe came out to visit earlier this fall. It was great to have a familiar friend out here. We spent a lot of time eating, drinking and catching up and a little time exploring Washington's Colville National Forest and marathon running...well...Joe explored marathon running and I was the supportive friend.

Fall Field Work

I've being doing a fair bit of field work this fall. Most of my work has been on EPA sites doing sediment, groundwater and surface water sampling. I am working with great people and learning so much. This part of the country is beautiful, and I really enjoy being able to work outside. I don't especially prefer working outside in the cold, wind, rain or snow...unfortunately projects do not seem to revolve around my work preferences, particularly when I'm the "newbie" in the office.
